It is also possible to import custom languages as described here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartograph.eu\/v3\/add-ons\/translations\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"85\">Translations<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The general view provides the following options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Keep screen on:<\/strong> If enabled then the app tries to prevent automatic turning off of the device&#8217;s screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Check for updates:<\/strong> If enabled then Cartograph checks for new updates on start. This option is only available for versions downloaded directly from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartograph.eu\/v3\/download\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"39\">Cartograph website<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sidebar buttons:<\/strong> Here you can select which buttons are shown on the top\/bottom\/right side bars. More details about sidebar button are described here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartograph.eu\/v3\/sidebar-buttons\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1080\">Sidebar buttons<\/a>. <br><strong>Note<\/strong>: you can re-order the sidebar buttons by dragging the entries up\/down.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Width:<\/strong> Defines the width (height) of the sidebar buttons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Size: <\/strong>Defines the size of the sidebar buttons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Show recording button:<\/strong> Show the recording button on the left side.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Show quick access button:<\/strong> Show the quick access button on the left side.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Show all settings:<\/strong> If enabled then all settings (including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartograph.eu\/v3\/map-manager-settings\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"718\">Map manager settings<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartograph.eu\/v3\/track-manager-settings\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"870\">Track manager settings<\/a>, etc.) are shown in the general settings dialog.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Register file extensions:<\/strong> This option registers file extensions in the Windows registry so that, for instance, double clicking on a *.map file opens the Cartograph app. This option is only available on Windows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">App styling<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The app styling view provides means for adjusting the Cartograph user interface:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>User interface scaling factor:<\/strong> This is the factor by which the whole user interface is scaled. A value less than &#8220;1&#8221; means that the user interface gets smaller, while a value greater than &#8220;1&#8221; means that it get bigger. <strong>Note:<\/strong> The app has to be restarted (sent to background and then killed on iOS) after changing this setting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Theme:<\/strong> Selection between a dark (black) and light (white) app styling theme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Popup toolbar size:<\/strong> This value sets the size of navigation-, track drawing-, and other toolbars which are shown on the map view&#8217;s bottom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dialog opacity:<\/strong> This value sets the opacity (transparency) of dialogs. This is for instance useful, if you want a semi-transparent Map manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Backup manager<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The backup manager allows you to automatically create cloud backups of the Cartograph data. For details see also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartograph.eu\/v3\/cloud-backup\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"458\">Cloud backup<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>File size:<\/strong> The maximum size of a backup file. If the file gets bigger than this value then the file is split into multiple files.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Synchronize deleted item:<\/strong> If true then deleted items are also synchronized. Example: You delete a track. If this option is <strong>disabled <\/strong>then the track will not be deleted from the backup or other devices. If this option is <strong>enabled<\/strong> then the track will also be deleted from the backup and other devices. Generally it is recommended to disable this option to prevent potential data loss.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Show backup manager every:<\/strong> This value represents the backup interval. A value of &#8220;0&#8221; means that automatic backups are disabled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Units<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The units view allows you to select the units used in the app, for instance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Metric (meter, kilometer, km\/h), imperial (miles, feet, mph).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinate format (degrees, decimal).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinate projection (WGS 84, UTM, MGRS, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Route planning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The route planning view provides the following options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Route planning point limit:<\/strong> The maximum number of points used for route planning. This value is used for determining routing points from existing tracks. <strong>Note:<\/strong> For most routing services (e.g. Google Directions or Bing Routes) the limit is much smaller (usually around 10-20 points). This means, if you want to use such a service then you have to set this value to 10 points or so.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Disable warnings:<\/strong> If enabled then no warnings are shown if the routing service detects a possible problem (for instance too many routing points, too much memory usage, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Simplification mode:<\/strong> The way how routing points are derived from existing tracks.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>None:<\/strong> All track points from the track are used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Small\/Medium\/Aggressive:<\/strong> Only a subset of track points from the original track is used.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Line color: <\/strong>The style of the routing line.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Waypoint:<\/strong> The style of the route planning waypoints.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Navigation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The navigation view provides the following options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hide waypoints:<\/strong> If enabled then the waypoints used for route calculation are hidden during navigation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Show routing instructions:<\/strong> If enabled then each routing instruction is visualized by an icon on the map.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hide visited routing hints:<\/strong> If enabled then routing icons are hidden after they have been visited.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Start routing hint time:<\/strong> The time a routing hint is played before the actual routing point is reached. For instance, a value of &#8220;5 seconds&#8221; means that the routing instruction to &#8220;turn left on the next crossing&#8221; is played 5 seconds before reaching the crossing. The exact playback time is determined from the current moving speed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Play alert leaving route:<\/strong> If enabled then an alert is played when leaving the route.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Routing info size:<\/strong> The size of the routing information panel shown during routing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enabled voice output:<\/strong> If enabled then TTS instructions are played during routing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Language\/Speaker:<\/strong> The language (English, German, etc.) and the speaker (female, male, etc.) used for the voice instructions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Routing instructions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The routing instructions view allows you select between different types of routing instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Default:<\/strong> Use the default routing texts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Custom text:<\/strong> Use custom routing instruction texts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Custom audio files:<\/strong> Use custom audio files as routing instructions. See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartograph.eu\/v3\/add-ons\/audio-packages\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"87\">Audio packages<\/a> for details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Storage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The storage view provides the following options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Compress app database:<\/strong> Compresses the main app database. Eventually the app has to be restarted after compressing the database.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Delete cached files:<\/strong> Deletes all cached data, such as temporary image files or data files downloaded from the internet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Delete temporary files:<\/strong> Deletes all temporary files created by Cartograph. Usually Cartograph automatically deletes its temporary files but in case of crashes or other unexpected behavior automatic deletion can fail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Clear tile cache:<\/strong> This option deletes the tile cache.
